The Prop Co-op consists of two separate companies, each owned by esteemed Bay Area art directors who have been in the business for over 30 years.
Acme Prop Rentals, owned by Josh Koral, is an extensive collection of props and dressings, from the everyday to the extraordinary– Jump ropes to jetpacks, road signs to rickshaws. Acme also specializes in scenery, renting out items like backdrops, wall flats, columns, stages, and all the provisions you need to support them.
The Prop House, owned by Andrew Lewis, holds a special inventory of weapons, antiques, and special effects equipment in addition to the usual dressings like telephones, computers, and furniture. Whether you need a fog machine or taxidermy pheasant, The Prop House has got them and everything in between.
Luckily, these two collections are only a few steps apart, so if you can’t find what you’re looking for at one company, chances are the other might have it. However, if you STILL can’t find that one elusive item, luckily (again) Acme Scenery Company is located only a few more steps away (right next door!). This fully equipped fabrication shop can build anything! Really, that’s their slogan.
